FIMO

Made by Eberhard-Faber, Fimo is available in several forms and many colors. It is cured at 230-265 degrees F.

FIMO classic is available in 24 colors. It is an excellent choice for work that contains filigree, or objects with fine details. FIMO classic is the firmest of all the clays, and requires extensive conditioning before molding the clay. Holds up beautifully for canework.

FIMO Soft was developed as an alternative to FIMO Classic. It is smooth and soft, right out of the package, and is readily blended and formed with minimal conditioning. It is prone to brittleness after curing, and not ideal for thin pieces, or pieces with long extensions.

FIMO Effect is available in 5 varieties and 24 colors. The varieties are nightglow (fluorescent); glitter; metallic (contains minute mica particles); transparent (for translucent objects); and stone. FIMO Effect can be blended with both FIMO Classic and FIMO Soft.

FIMO Liquid is transparent and extremely flexible when cured. It is useful for a variety of applications including image transfer, sealing FIMO objects, providing a coat over FIMO objects, or grouting FIMO mosaics. It can be mixed with oil paints and paint powder, and cures in a conventional oven.

Puppen-FIMO was developed for doll making. It is extremely pliable yet maintains its shape. Comes in three colors: porcelain, rose, and natural. After curing it has a semi-matt porcelain finish.
